IOS has a built in file manager that can detect usb connections. On IOS you select the photos you want to save. Tap the share icon, scroll down to "save to files". There you can choose the usb drive. Depending on which IPhone you have. You will need and lighting port to usb type-A Or you will need a usb type-C to type-A adapter.
