Not sure if this answer helps - but that "preview" option is determined by the folder view settings on my windows PCs. When you open a folder of photos, click the word "view" at top of window and you will see many options. "Preview pane" enables a preview of clicked file.

Please try again later.Some of the SanDisk drives had software to encrypt the data and allowed for a password, I'd stick with a SanDisk drive if you found that easy to use and liked the software. Now all that can be generally be done through the OS or 3rd party software that you use as far as passwords and how the files are shown but I'd say go with what you find is the easiest to use and do.

In Windows it's at the top right side of the display panel --- click large icon or (sometimes) image will be an option. In any case 128 gig at USB 3 at this price is a steal Good Luck
