Q: QuestionWhat is the actual stated data transfer rate. All your answers state "it's fast." This tells me nothing and gives the interpretation that you don't want it known.

• A:Answer I just wrote a review for this drive after some extensive testing: I got an Windows average write speed of 195-220 MBs and a Windows average of 300 MBs read speed out of the 12TB easystore. Curiously, its big brother, the 16TB easystore, scored much lower on write average than this drive. Also, keep in mind, that the drive was attached to a USB 3.0 hub (which may have been a bottleneck) so you may be able to increase the demonstrated numbers by attaching it directly to your PC or Mac (also, you'll need to format the drive for a Mac if you're using one as it's formatted NTFS out of the box). All-in-all, it's a great drive. Not as fast as we've become accustomed to with SSDs but for a mechanical drive it does pretty good. PLEASE NOTE: Those drive speeds were read from the Windows move dialog and were not artificial, meaning that I didn't use 'laboratory software' to test the write speeds of the drive. They were real world numbers that were demonstrated by moving large HD and UHD video files to the drive.

• A:Answer You should be able to. WD has software that you can download to do certain types of backups or you can do the backups yourself. Create folders and copy the files you want to these folders.

• A:Answer I'm not 100% sure what you're asking here, but I'll assume you're asking if this has recovery software on it that helps with lost data. There is software on it, but its intention is to automatically copy data that might be on your main computer drive or any other drive you have connected to your computer. You basically pick the folders that you want to be backed up and it will automatically copy those folders and their contents onto this drive. If something goes wrong with this drive, causing you to lose the data on it, there isn't anything here that will recover that data.

Q: QuestionCan this 12TB External HD run Flight Simulator 2020?

• A:Answer Since you don't indicate on what platform you'll be running Flight Simulator, I'll provide a couple of scenarios and hope one of them fits your particular situation: If you'll be running it on a PC, yes, it will be able to handle Flight Simulator 2020, however, it won't load fast particularly if you have the drive attached to your PC through a USB hub. I only got around 300 MBs Windows average read speed through my USB 3.0 hub during my drive testing. You might be able to increase that by connecting the drive directly to a USB port on the PC (USB 3.0 - these are not USB-C drives) but I wasn't able to test that. If, however, you'll be running Flight Simulator 2020 for Xbox Series X|S, then no... this hard drive will not be fast enough to handle the read and write speeds that are required for the Series X|S software to execute. You'll need to install your older games on the external easystore drive and the newer Series X|S software on the internal Xbox SSD or get a SSD expansion card for your Xbox Series X|S. Hope this helps.
