A:Answer I just wrote a review for this drive after some extensive testing:
I got an Windows average write speed of 195-220 MBs and a Windows average of 300 MBs read speed out of the 12TB easystore. Curiously, its big brother, the 16TB easystore, scored much lower on write average than this drive.
Also, keep in mind, that the drive was attached to a USB 3.0 hub (which may have been a bottleneck) so you may be able to increase the demonstrated numbers by attaching it directly to your PC or Mac (also, you'll need to format the drive for a Mac if you're using one as it's formatted NTFS out of the box).
All-in-all, it's a great drive. Not as fast as we've become accustomed to with SSDs but for a mechanical drive it does pretty good.
PLEASE NOTE: Those drive speeds were read from the Windows move dialog and were not artificial, meaning that I didn't use 'laboratory software' to test the write speeds of the drive. They were real world numbers that were demonstrated by moving large HD and UHD video files to the drive.
