“Does shucking invalidate the 2 yr warranty?? How do they know it's been shucked??”

• Yes of course opening up any electronic device will void the warranty. Shucking will cause damage to the plastic clips holding the enclosure in place, but honestly these drives have been great and haven’t had any issues with them.

• Hello Shuckle, Please be informed that I would like to inform that western digital do not recommend shucking as disk assembling or harvesting the bare hard drive from enclosure will void the warranty of the drive. However Western digital do not recommend tampering of the drives.
