Caleb seems to have misunderstood your question. By "this," you would mean the WD external drive in the ad ("WD - easystore 16TB External USB 3.0 Hard Drive - Black"). So you are asking whether the WD - easystore 16TB External USB 3.0 Hard Drive - Black is faster or as fast as the WD P50. The WD P50 is a SSD (Solid State Drive). Any SSD will be faster than any platter storage, and will always be more expensive for the same capacity.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I'd like to add that the reply by " Russ" is confusing, as he has mistyped or misunderstood the question or just plain has poor English. If you remove the words "Much much faster, as" from the beginning of his answer, you will see that he also says the WD P50 is considerably faster than this drive.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Much much faster, as the P50 is an NVMe SSD inside an enclosure running over USB 3.2, and can push close to the full 2GBps over that connection. The easystore is a regular spinning (though much larger capacity) HDD, which if you're lucky will maybe get 10% of the speed of the P50 given that the P50 is an SSD
