Windows suppose to recognize it automatically. Try it on another laptop or pc. If it’s still not recognized then it’s probably something wrong with the ssd drive. If it’s just that laptop then it’s something wrong with the usb slot. Try another slot if possible. Also test your usb slots with other working usb devices. If issue is with ssd drive contact wd tech support.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.It could be that your PC? usb drive is not providing enough power to the SSD. I was able to get a 10 year old Macbook to recognize this device. It was also immediately recognized by my PC bios when I plugged it into a USB port, straight out of the box. You could try plugging the device into another computer, formatting the drive, and trying again.
