Hello Liz, please be informed that the Easystore Portable solid-state drive is designed and tested for Windows and macOS computers. We have not tested the drive on mobile devices or an iPad. We recommend to use computer to backup the phone to the drive. Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes, you can! I am unaware of a method to directly plug this WD-easystore 1TB External USB Portable SSD into iPhone. I use my Windows laptop with iTunes installed and my iPhone with the VLC application installed to transfer large videos and photos to and from my iPhone to Windows laptop. Then, from my laptop, I can easily move them onto the external drive. I could write out all the steps I use, but I found a video that really helped me understand the transfer process. I provided a screenshot so you can search for this video or another one that might help you. In all, I recommend this external drive. I edit video for my church, and this drive helps free up space on my iPhone and Windows laptop.
