“Has anyone had trouble with this Easystore drive unmounting or not being able to see files after hooked to a MAC that has entered sleep mode? WD tech support said that that is a known problem(without solution) with thier new MYBOOK drives connect to MACS”

Yes, I had many problems wit this drive and returned it to Best Buy. I use a special NTFS read/write plugin with my MAC and have had no issue with any previous WD drive.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I was having this problem for some time as I created a sim-linked auto-mounted folder on my macbook pro. If you haven't already tried it, I had to go back into the mybook config, create a new username and password combination. I would then assign folders associated with the new username and make them visible to the network. Then on the mac, I had to ensure that the auto-mount option would always use that username. When I experience the unmount or when folders simply disappear, I typically have to re-authenticate.
