• You can use any external HDD that has a USB 3.0 connection. The PS4 will address up to 8 TB (Terabytes) of storage. The external drive needs to be formatted to work with the PS4 and after formatting you will lose some of the 4 TB, might be like 3.6-3.8 TB left after the reformatting.
