The EasyStore drive is FAR more likely to fail than the cable included with it. Quite the opposite with the WD My Passport. Easy decision.
I would recommend:
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. It connects via USB and is powered by the device it is plugged into (Xbox, computer, etc.) The cable disconnects and can be replaced. There should be no worries of losing data. I've been using mine for nearly a year every single day and have no problems, but always backup everything in multiple places.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The power source is from the same USB cable.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. It uses power from the USB DEVICE you’re plugging it to meaning your computer. If too many usb devices are plugged on the same computer especially laptop, it’s possible that it could become unstable or flaky. It depends on the hardware used, Gaming laptop obviously has better hardware/ power supply source than chrome book or surface. Data should remain on the drive unless the drive itself fails to spin or internal R/W heads break.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. It uses the USB cable as a power supply, it does not require a secondary power supply.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The power is supplied by the USB port. If the power source is shut off, the data is retained but if it was writing data at the time the power source shut off, the data may be corrupted.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.
