No, there are no leds on this one. Only issue is when I first hooked it up, because of the lack of led's I wasn't sure if it was working properly. I have the 4TB model and I don't know if any of the other models have led's or not.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.This is another case where the bean counters have taken over. I am not sure how much lack of an LED saves but it does reduce functionality. There are cases when it important to know when some functions are done that involve the hard drive and windows does not always give back feedback. Also you cannot tell if the drive is in sleep mode. I think mine never does, but cannot verify that because of lack of the light. They clam it goes to sleep in 1/2 hour unless other settings prevent that, but I have no settings to prevent, but it never goes to sleep. While that slows down first access when in sleep it significantly increases drive life. Most of us will do that trade off in an external drive.
