Disk drives like this don’t have CPUs so in that context you can’t compare a disk drive to a laptop.My laptop has an i9 CPU and my WD My Book Duo drive operates as fast as I need it to. I also have it connected to a USB-C port on my laptop. But that connection is no guarantee of speed as spinning disk drives like this are going to be limited by the speed of the disk drive(s) inside.
