• Yes, you will need to use the USB connection cable that comes with it. The Cloud storage is an option, not necessary.

• The drive works without the cloud and is recognized when connected with the cable.

• It needs to be formatted for the Mac. Don't have to use cloud on Mac. Try hooking it up and see what you get. Partition it if using on a Mac.
