Lisette, I never owned a Hopper, but based on my knowledge, companies do not permit that. Even if you would be able to do so, probably has encoding you will not be able to decode. Bottom line, this is a NAS (network attached storage), you attach it with a network cable to your router and anyone in the house can use it to access data or backup their data, wired or wireless.

Unfortunately the only way to extend a TiVo is to open up and replace drive or buy their esata drives fro WD. If you own the device just swap the drive with a larger capacity if technically inclined. Otherwise you will shell out some dough for less capacity than you pay for.
