You can access this drive from virtually anywhere. In my case it is connected to my home network in Florida, and I have accessed it from California, New York, and other locations in Florida--both from a computer and from an iPad (there's a free app). You can also send links via email to others and they can download files you want to share with them.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes. You connect this directly to your home router via the included Ethernet cable. When you first launch the website from a laptop, tablet, smartphone, or PC, you will be prompted to set it up to allow access to whomever you designate, with a password you create. The My Cloud has two apps available for smartphones and tablets that allow you to access the device, no matter where you are. For example, if your away from home and are anywhere with internet access, you can bring up what's on the My Cloud and watch whatever is stored on it, or access any files you have stored. I love it when I travel because I can stream to my phone from a friend or any free WiFi without eating up data. You can also temporarily download a movie or two to your phone and watch them on a plane, no problem, and delete them from your phone without losing the copy that's on the My Cloud. Hope this helps.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes, this is the very reason why I purchased it. however, sometimes it's not smooth as some paid cloud services are. sometimes it's a hit and miss as occasionally it says my network is not available, but will work again if I try later like 30 mins. I would only use this for personal use but I wouldn't use it for any business/critical situations.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes. Two ways: 1. From any computer with Internet access at wdmycloud.com or wd2go.com. This requires some intial setup to associate login information (e-mail address, password) with your specific device. Instructions can be found on the WD website. 2. Using mobile device apps. I can vouch for iOS apps (work well on iPhone and iPad), never explored Android counterparts.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I am new to the WD MyCloud system, but I know if you use this link https://www.wd2go.com from anywhere you can login to your MyCloud and have access to your drive. There are apps to download on your phone or tablet as well.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.yes you can, that's the good thing of this you have your own cloud. just FYI if you have a MAC with the newer iOS version Maverick. Just a heads up, you will encounter an issue that you won't be able to access it when you away. Up to now Java have not fixed the patch for it.
