Assuming you have both a smartphone and a bluetooth-capable radio in your vehicle, you could share your WD drive (from home) via the cloud (via the provided software) and access it via the "WD My Cloud" app on your phone. Then, you could stream the music from your phone to your radio via bluetooth like you would to with Pandora. If you meant just plugging the drive into the USB port of your car radio, I'd doubt it. Most car radios have a size limit on what size drive you can access. Buy a thumb drive instead. Plus, how would you power it? Hope this helps :) Mike
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Hey. Great idea. First, WD MyCloud has an app which is your music player (WD Music Player). I'm currently away from home, connected to the NAS via internet and listening to music (playlist) on the NAS. Second, listening remotely from the car - interesting. So I tried this! Download the app "WD MyCloud" for android phone. Set up your remote connectivity/secure access (just as you would for a PC to access MyCloud remotely). In the app, navigate to your music/playlist...click Play. That's it. This worked well. Keep in mind audio streaming uses a lot of your data plan if you are connected via 4G or 3G.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.No. This is not an external hard drive, but instead, it is a Network Attached Storage device which works a bit differently. It hooks up to your router, and becomes a network hard drive for your computer network.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes you can
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes if you have the wd app you can set your device as a authorized user with password and access your cloud from anywhere as long as your Internet connection on cloud and device are not lost
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. No, it only works on a computer network. It doesn't have a USB port to connect it directly into a computer or music player.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.if you treat it like a cloud service (Pandora , iTunes etc.) yes, keep it plugged in at home and stream via the cloud to your cell phone . Don't think it will work plugged into the car radio USB port?
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes, I have done this. I have music stored on this drive, and using an iOS app (WDMyCloud), I am able to browse the files and open the mp3 files, which would cause it to play. There are some basic music controls like shuffle, pause etc. which are useful, but don't expect any great playlist management tools. My phone is usually paired over bluetooth to the car speakers, so the music plays out of the speakers. Needless to say, if your cellular data is being used, unless you have an unlimited plan, you will be charged by your carrier sooner or later. The app also warns you how much it is about to download when you select a music file, so you will have some idea before you start.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. With a DLNA/UPnP certified connection, music can be streamed from the Personal Cloud Storage External Hard Drive to a car stereo.
