“Does the hard drive sleep when not being accessed. Wondering about the life of the hard drive. Thanks”

It does have a sleep option, as well as the option to turn off the light

Yes, it sleeps until needed. I have a 1tb WD my cloud that I've had for 4 years and it's still going strong!

Yes -- once you set it up that one. I.e. Sleep if no activity for two hours.

Yes. When not in use the hard drive will go into standby mode until accessed again.

It's set up as a fixed disk drive. So it should follow the hard drive sleep policy you set on your computer.
