Yes the blue lights in front stop blinking when the device is no longer being accessed. When idle, you should only see one light dimming on and off very slowly. You must be accessing this device from somewhere for it to be continuously running.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Mine ran for 2-3days initially after transferring a larger amount of data, but the temperature never got too high. Do you have plenty of ventilation? Link any electronics device, if it runs too hot it will degrade the unit over time. My device final went into sleep mode. If yours does not, you should contact WD support about it or check the forums for alternative solutions.
