Yes, I use it as a dedicated drive for Photos and video.

I have thousands of photos stored on my computer, and I've barely broken 400MB. You'd be better off buying a smaller (and cheaper) hard-drive if that's all you need it for. Or you could get this one, store your photos, and then do the smart thing and use it to back up everything else too. I can't imagine anyone being able to fill a 4TB hard-drive with just photos.
