Yes it will . That’s what I have and it works perfect. It formats itself . All you do is plug and play. You should definitely get it if you can. The 500gb that PS4 has is not enough if you’re playing bunch of games at the same time.

No. This is drive is in a USB housing - it's not a bare drive. If you want to install a drive in your PS4 you will want a bare or OEM drive. It will work with the PS4 when the external drive support is enabled via a PS4 update.
