Yes it can be used for the XBOX ONE because that is what I am using it for. It will require reformatting.

it can be used for xbox one, however i do not suggest it, why because 1tb is not much space for new generation games, i did buy the 3tb hdd my book for my xbox one by western digital and it works great, i have over 100 games on it already and have 1.3 tb left

If XBONE supports USB drives, yes. Whether is USB 2 or 3 will determine speed.

Put this in an External case and plug it in...You should have no problems.
