It may be that you stored it to the default NTFS formatted drive. You probably need to re-format the drive to Fat32 before storing anything. I had problems before where another computer could not access the stored files. I normally re-format the drive to Fat32 first before doing anything. Then the files should be accessible from PCs or Macs, and probably Chrome. Good luck.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Chrome states that it support drives that have been formatted using the following formats: filesystems: Ext2 Ext3 Ext4 MTP (read-only) FAT HFS+ (read-only on journaled HFS+) ISO9660 (read-only) NTFS UDF (read-only) Doubt check the external drive and be sure it is one of these formats. If unsure how, try this - http://www.ehow.com/how_8093916_out-hard-drive-fat32-ntfs.html If it is already formatted with a support format then try other USB ports on the Chrome Book.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I'm unable to come up with any suggestions at this time.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The drive IS compatible if you're able to navigate its file structure. As far as apps, if memory serves me right I use an app called File Manager HD. If you can't open the drive, that means it needs to be reformatted in a more neutral format. I'm guessing its in NTFS. If you need to, look up a guide on how to reformat your drive in FAT32. When you do that, make sure you format the right drive.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The drive is compatible with both operating systems, but your picture format is not. I can't give you specifics since I don't know the format of the pictures you are trying to view, but there are plenty of conversion tools out there on www.download.com. Make sure you tick the "Free" box so you don't get stuck paying for something when there are free alternatives.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I would try changing the file type. Instead of saving the pictures as a windows type media, save it as a .jpg or other universal format
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Perhaps the salesman meant that it can be used with either one but not both at the same time or together. If you save things in windows format and then try to open it on a different operating system such as chrome or with something that doesn't support windows format then chances are it wouldn't work. As far as an app to use, possibly a windows app that is meant for whatever you want to open. So if it's photos then perhaps an app by windows for photos. Hope this helps.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Once the hard drive is formatted to one program or system it will not work with others. I'm not sure what to use with Chrome book. I would google it and see what the best options are.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.See if you can see files on drive select a picture right click see what chrome gives you as choices to open files, try that if not google it
