Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.This portable drive does not necessarily require any power supply. It is efficient enough to run off the power from the USB port. If you need to extend the USB cable, (may not a good idea however), or the port on the device you're connecting it to doesn't seem to supply it with sufficient power, then you may be able to attach the drive to a powered USB 3.0 hub, if the device recognizes and supports a hub (some TVs or audio equipment may not, for example).

Many 3.5" EHDs use an A/C adapter, separate from the data cord, in addition to being cheaper per GB and possibly more reliable over the long term. I prefer the small ones for their portability, myself.
