Yes you will either need to format it (NTFS or FAT 32) or install a driver so that windows can R/W to a MAC formatted disk.

Easiest is to get a friend with a Mac computer to do it for you. Only takes a few minutes.
Otherwise, you'll need third party utilities on your Windows 10 machine in order to "see" the Mac formatted drive. Then you'll be able to format it to be Windows compatible.

You can use it with Windows 10 by downloading the HFS+ driver. The instruction booklet that comes with the hard drive will tell you exactly what to do. This hard drive is definitely compatible with Windows.

It comes formatted for Mac. If you want to use it for windows, pop it in a Windows machine and format it. If you really want to get adventurous you can setup partitions, one for Mac and one for Windows and it will do both. Really the only thing special about this drive is that it is formatted for Mac and is USB-C out of the box. Both easily changed. Depends on what you want to do with it really. If you don't want to mess with anything that I just typed out here, get the Windows formatted drive. Its a larger capacity anyway :)
