Any hard drive is compatible with a Mac. IF you buy a Mac version, it comes preformated with a Mac partition. If its a regular external hard disk, passport or any other, just launch disk utility and change the partition to Mac , and within seconds it will be ready for you to use it with your Mac. You'll just need to give it a name when you create the new partition.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.All WD Passports are compatible with MACs with the correct format. Use the disk utility to format the drive correctly. Mac OS Extended (Journaled) for mac applications, or FAT32 - I use this for my audio / video files.
