• WeMo devices use Wifi in your home to connect to the internet, but you can remote connect to them through Celluar connections to internet.

• It can be controlled by your smartphone app so it does not matter if you use any wifi or your phones data network when you are away.

• The WeMo is going to need a WiFi to be connect to internet. It can be a hotspot provided by verizon network and the WeMo is going to work as soon the WeMo is connected to internet.

• it works with any carrier and wifi. if your in another place and have this app installed in your tablet. you can operate it through wifi.

• Belkin WEMO Insight switch wrks on wi-fi and 3G. I can control my lamps when away from home and not on wi-fi. One of the strengths of the product.

• Yes from any Internet connected device as long as your wemo device has access to the Internet and you enable remote access in the app.
