• The plug it 3-pronged like a grounded standard US plug. It will work on any internet connection. What I mean is, set up the switch on the home wi-fi. Once you are away, no matter where in the world as long as you have internet, launch the app and control it as needed. The app has 2 indicators when the switches are on/off. Hope this helps!

• Yes, JapanWeMo. You can use the WEMO device in Japan. However, it's not being sold in your region and its designed for standard US three-prong power outlets.
