If your cable service is using digital transmission, the TV's built-in tuner may try to "load" all channels onto "channel 1" (and it's sub channels), and not on the channel you expect. Some TVs can handle this (they have a built-in "cable card" slot, to decode where each channel goes.) But I don't see this feature listed for this model (and based on the relatively-low price of this unit, I think it is a safe bet it is not equipped with this feature.) So, yes, technically it will take any cable TV input. But acceptable usage might still require a set-top-box (STB) from your cable company.
