QuestionThe microwave is locked. Everything I read says to hold stop/cancel button 3 sec to unlock, but none of the buttons on the outside will work. The ones on the inside do, the clock is working, but no outside buttons and it does show locked.

- Answer Hello TB! Activate to avoid unintended start. Touch and hold the Cancel keypad for about 3 seconds until 2 tones sound and the CONTROL LOCKED appears in the display. When locked, touching any button on the keyboard (except for the hood control buttons and Cancel) will not work. Repeat to unlock control. Please press and hold the X down for 3/4 seconds. This will take the lock off. Thank you for your inquiry on our Whirlpool appliances.

QuestionTried to adjust volume by holding #4 button. Very low tone. Set timer and tone is so low you have to get up against the microwave to even hear it. Still can’t hear the tone. What can I do to adjust the volume???????????

- Answer Can't help. You are way ahead of me with #4 button info.. Just accepted alert tone volume as it came out of the box, a little low but not unpleasant and OK in the absence of a lot of backgrund noise. Almost identical to the alert from another brand fridge bought at the same time. Out of interest I did a quick search and only found info for iphones and galaxy phones. Does Whirlpool or BB represent model as ADA compliant? If so, there ought to be flashing lights or s relay output to connect a strobe, presumably asynchronous so it doesn't induce epilepsy in hearing impaired people.

- Answer I tried this yesterday before seeing your answer just in case it worked on mine and after pressing the "Clock" button repeatedly, it did not show any "sub menus". It just kept flashing the little clock symbol over the actual time. Am I doing it correctly? I won't be back there until Monday.

- Answer Willie, per page3 of the User Guide: Tones Open door, press and hold number keypad “4” for 5 seconds to disable button tones. Repeat to turn buttons tones back on. - Answer Hi RC, for this Whirlpool - 1.1 Cu. Ft. Low Profile Over-the-Range Microwave Hood Combination Keypad tones and volume can be adjusted. Press CLOCK to reach the Sound submenu. 1. Button Tones On and Off: Press 1-On 2-Off 2. Volume: Press 1-Low, 2-Med, 3-High Pressing the Start keypad, pressing the CLOCK keypad will save.
