Just installed it yesterday, and yes, it was a bit of a shock. I knew the dimensions, but seeing it actually up was a bit worrisome. We have room for a standard over the range microwave, BUT the grates on my beloved 15 yr old Kitchenaid range are crazy high. A regular microwave sat down too low, but this one opened up so much more room that the almost 3 inches really isn’t noticed! It also covers more of the range top surface, so the lighting is better, and the fan actually draws the heat from the front burners, which the old ones never did (it was nice cooking dinner tonight). We’ve gone through 5 microwaves because of the heat issues (3 had handles that cracked or broke, two had control panels burn out). If this is replacing a vent hood, I could see that it might be a slight issue, but for where we placed ours, it’s not.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Hi. We just installed this microwave a few days ago. I measured my space before purchasing so I knew it would stick out more than our previous microwave. When we installed, my initial reaction was that it really does stick out, but the shorter height and the sleek look makes up for that. I got used to it and now don’t really notice it.
