Q: QuestionI am considering a bottom freezer refrigerator such as this one or a top freezer refrigerator of a similar size. Bottom freezer models are nearly twice the price as top. Is there any good reason for this price differential (e.g. build quality, etc.)?

• A:Answer In terms of unit longevity probably not much difference. Energy efficiency might be a a tiny bit worse with a bottom freezer. Why pay more money for a bottom freezer fridge? It is easier to access the food in the fridge and freezer if you are older or have mobility issues this is huge. If you're young you may find you're better able to manage your food budget with a bottom freezer unit because you can more quickly assess the contents. If something spills in the fridge section it's easier to clean than with a bottom fridge. The mechanics of the pull out freezer section itself don't feel low quality.

Q: QuestionMy manual refers to the feature FreshFlow Produce Preserver. I do not see it with my purchased refrigerator. Where would it be located? I thought in the produce drawers but nothing is in there.

Q: QuestionHow heavy is the freezer drawer? How hard is it to open and close? I can lift a half gallon of water and worry about not being able to open/close it.

• A:Answer I can manage to carry a 5 gallon gas can. When the freezer is full it needs a significant pull and I suspect while you could manage it it would not be enjoyable to anticipate or do on a regular basis. A swing open bottom freezer might be better, because it doesn't carry the full mass of the freezer contents, but don't like the idea you might have to get near the floor to see what's in the freezer.
