• Hello Nicole, when installing your refrigerator next to a fixed wall, leave a 2" (5.08 cm) minimum space between the refrigerator and wall to allow the door to swing open.. Thank you for your inquiry regarding our Whirlpool appliances!

• This model the doors need to be allowed to protrude from the enclosed area(about 2''-3'' and then side clearance is not needed.

• I believe there would be no problem if the refrigerator came out at least 2 inches from counter
