“I read many web reviews on this box & there seems to be complaints regarding noise. I have a 18 year-old Whirlpool side x side that runs perfectly & is very quiet. Is the noise inherent for French door models or is it not really an issue?”

Not an issue at all. Only thing is the ice machine it is little bit loud. But overall amazing fridge 10 of 10. Get this you will not be disappointed.
