Q: QuestionWhere is the adjustable temperature control for the refrigerator; not for the drawers, but the general refrigerator? I have a Whirlpool Gold fingerprint resistant refrigerator with in-door water and ice maker and freezer on the bottom. Thank you.
Asked by Tammy.
- A:Answer On the front of the doors where you access the water is a digital panel. Hold down the button for temperature. Keep your finger on the button until it counts down to zero from 3. The panel will then display the fridge’s internal temperature. If you want to adjust it, press the up or down arrow that will be showing on the panel. Then press confirm.

Q: QuestionThe lights on the front panel of my whirlpool refrigerator will not go out, and when I try to adjust the temp, it counts down to 3 but then flashes with no display with which I can make changes. Could this be that the control panel needs to be replaced?
Asked by MichaelB.
- A:Answer The countdown is to lock and unlock the buttons. Make sure the lock shows it unlocked. Once it is unlocked, tap the light button twice to turn it off. It dims and then goes off. You will hear a ding if you press the button in the right spot.

Q: QuestionSaw a p65 warning CA what is that all about cancer causing? Should I be concerned?
Asked by curious.
- A:Answer curious, the warning in your Use and Care Guide is printed in order for Whirlpool Corporation to be in compliance with California state law. In the State of California there exists what is referred to "Proposition 65." Proposition 65 is the California Safe Drinking and Water and Toxic Enforcement Act of 1986. Any company that operates in California, sells its products in California or manufactures products that may be sold or brought into California is subject to Proposition 65. Since our products are sold in California, Proposition 65 applies to us. Proposition 65 requires warning labels on any product that may contain or produce any of the 600-plus elements that the California Air Resources Board considers carcinogenic or a reproductive toxicant. These elements include lead (contained in the solder used to attach electronic parts to the printed circuit boards), brass, PVC and a multitude of other everyday elements and gas products burn fuels (natural gas or propane) that contain trace levels of chemicals on the list. This list also contains a wide range of naturally occurring and synthetic chemicals, including common household products, foods, drugs, dyes and solvents. Hopefully this information is beneficial to you. Thank you for your inquiry regarding our Whirlpool appliances!
