Hi RWValarie, the ATC System controls the incoming water supply to provide an accurate setting for the water temperature in the washer tub. The ATC system uses a thermostat located in the water supply tubing between the water inlet valve and the vacuum break called a Thermistor. This thermistor senses the incoming water temperatures and provides input to the ATC control board. The board uses this input to cycle the hot and cold water solenoids on the water inlet valves to achieve the desired water temperature settings. The ATC System will provide 70 degree F (+/- 5 degrees) for the COLD setting, 100 degree F (+/- 10 degrees) for the WARM setting, and 120 degrees (+/- 15 degrees) for the HOT setting. The final water temperature is measured inside the tub. In the cold setting, the cold water is energized 100% of the time and the hot water solenoid is cycled off and on. In the warm setting, the opposite happens, and the hot water solenoid is energized 100% of the time while the cold water solenoid is cycled off and on. Therefore, if you were to test the incoming water at any given time you may feel hot or cold water coming in if it is cycling at that time.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Sounds like a call to the mfg. is in order, especially if this is the second unit you have. It could be an issue with the control panel. We have this unit and once we figured out the instructions in the operating manual all is well. One thing I always do is to run the water in a nearby laundry sink until it runs hot. This ensures that you are filling the washer with hot water and not with cold water from the water lines. Of course this assumes that your washer is being fed from the same main water line in your basement or slab. Good luck.
