It won't start without sufficient detergent if the "load and go" setting is selected. It also gives a message that there is low detergent on the display.

Hi Nikey, when the bulk dispenser is running low, the display will show the detergent level is "low". The Load and Go determines the best amount of detergent and the best time to add it to the load. We hope this helps.
