• The washer has a delay feature that allows you to add an item in the wash once it's started i believe it's like 30 seconds? The machine will indicate once locked

• Yes you just have to touch the Cycle button It will allow you to open the lid after a moment put the clothes in and retouch the cycle button. The cycle buttons all the way to the right
