“This is listed as a "Slide-In"...is it a true Slide-In where you need to have the counter cut to cover the back edge (and potentially sides) to cover gaps? Or is this a "front control" range that can be use anywhere a regular freestanding range was used?”

The sides do not appear to overlap onto the countertop thus leaving a small "gap" similar to the older style ranges. Some slide-ins overlap the side countertops leaving a more tidy and gap-free fit.
