Keeping a gas range clean does require more care. There are likely many unique methods for cleaning. We never use an abrasive scrubber or harsh cleaners with oils. We have used wash cloth size microfiber towels to prevent lint from being left behind. We wipe the stove top and grates down with a warm soapy wet towel and dry them with a dry microfiber towel. This method we have found to be the easiest and most efficient, ensuring both the stove top is dry and shiny and the grates as with any cast iron are dry to prevent rust. Our stove looks as good as the day we got it.
