That's not totally correct! When convection mode is enabled the temperature is auto changed. In other words if you choose 425 degrees it will auto select 400 degrees (25 degrees lower than recipe. I have never heard that you have to alter the cook time as well. No guesswork!

When I first used the convection oven, I experienced items cooking a lot faster than with the conventional oven. I lowered the temperature 25 degrees and they did just fine. I would advise you to set it lower. If you don't, you can watch what is baking a little closer so that the item does not overcook.

It is recommended that you adjust the bake time that is suggested for your recipe to compensate. So you would shave 25% off the recommended cooking time. We hope this helps!
