• Hello Barb! If you do not want to use the convection feature you would just use the bake cycle. If you want to use the convection cycle then you would select Convection. Thank you for your inquiry on our Whirlpool appliances.

• Yes will only use convection when you you press the convection button. The bake button is the conventional bake setting.

• There is a selection on the stove that allows you to use the oven as a regular oven. When baking, just take that selection and the fan will not turn on. This is a feature that I truly love.
