A:AnswerIn case others are wondering about this issue, I think I have a clearer answer :) The counters will not be next to the grills (grates). The grill/grates are about 1 inch above standard counter height. Also, the edges of the grates get warm but not hot-hot.
A:AnswerI know, looks weird, right? The grates make it very easy to place pots and pans in the right place over the flame and heat. Even small pots do not tip over. The burners work perfectly with the grates.
A:AnswerThere are two choices a touch button that says oven and one that says convect oven, choose one of those (left side-facing, near the range top buttons and the time) then on the right side of the time select your temperature, I think it is automatically at 350, go up or down from there, then touch the start if you want to preheat, if not select the cook time and enter the time from there. Hope it helps.
A:AnswerNo this stove does not give off a gas odor however the first time ever that you use the stove there is a very strong smell that is almost chemical like. That said after half an hour of keeping the stove on and airing out the house you will no longer have that smell. My contractor advised me that this was par for the course with new stoves in general.

A:AnswerThe center burner came with a cast-iron griddle plate included. One side of the plate is flat for pancakes and the other side has ridges for grilling. Both sides have a small trough around the perimeter to hold grease that runs off but it doesn't hold very much and isn't easily drained when hot. Also note that the griddle doesn't heat very evenly, it is larger than the burner below it and the edges are much cooler than the center.
