A:AnswerWhile looking through the installation guide for this model. I am not finding any information requiring a vent kit.
Perhaps the person who is insisting you purchase a vent kit is confused.
If you go to whirlpool's website under manuals key in the model number WED9290FC
look down through the list you will find installation instructions. you can see for yourself there is no requirement
for a vent kit. They person that posted the information could have been using generic info that was copied from
a previous listing. Not sure where you got the info a vent kit is needed but I am not finding any evidence.
I hope this clears up some of the confusion.
