• This is not a box, it's a flat antenna that picks up HDTV over the air signals. It works great and I live in a small town. I get over 30 channels including all the network ones. I use my phones hotspot for internet on my laptop. Saving 2k per year not using cable. Have t-mobile for 5 g service. No fees for using this.

• Yes. It’s an antenna. It pulls local area channels only over the air. The app only assists with placement of the antenna to help you get the most channels that you can over the air. After the antenna is placed, the app doesn’t do anything else.
