I'd say it's just a little bit slimmer than the silicone sports band. But it jumps out a bit more because of the style and color. It's pretty close to the same size though. What my wife & I liked about it was that the part that connects to your Apple Watch is anodized blue also so it kind of ads color to the edges of the watch itself, if that makes sense. My wife really loved this one so I bought it :). ps: These woven bands don't hold up quite as well as the silicone for a sweaty workout since they tend to discolor a bit. Still a nice choice if you don't abuse it too much though!
