It only covers the sides I would recommend a screen protector as well

It does not cover the face....you still need to buy something for that. This is like a wrapper for the outside casing.

Correct. It’s only a bumper. You can buy a screen protector but honestly they suck. Mine peeled off. The bumper is great though.

This only protects the edges of the watch, there is nothing covering the screen.

It only protects the edges. It’s raised slightly to protect the glass on the edge but no screen cover.
