Seagate Expansion Card (Official Option) • Microsoft designed the Series S (and X) to support official Seagate Storage Expansion Cards. • These plug directly into the dedicated slot on the back of the console. • They come in 512GB, 1TB, and 2TB options, and work exactly like the internal SSD (fast load times, Quick Resume, etc.). 2. External USB Drives (For Xbox One / older games) • You can also use a regular external USB 3.0 hard drive or SSD. • But: these only store Xbox One, Xbox 360, and original Xbox games. They can’t run Series S|X optimized titles — though you can store those games there and transfer them back to the internal drive when you want to play. So if you want true expanded storage for Series S|X games, you’ll need the Seagate Expansion Card.
