• You XFX R9 280x must support "hard swap interchangeable" fans already to use these. These fans have no wires. They just slide into an existing hard swap interchangeable video card and once seated properly are powered. I know that some XFX R9 290X models supported the feature. Look at the top of the fan assembly on your video card. If it has little tabs that allow the fans to pop out when the tab is pressed, then your card most likely does support hard swap fan kits.
