• The 4k passthru will still work on a 4k receiver but for the hdr color gamut to work then a 4k hdr recever will be needed. My PS4 with the hdr update recognizes the difference between 4k only and 4k with hdr. Btw, this receiver sounds way better than the Denon one. Hope this helps.
