“I have a Sony receiver currently and have extremely hard time understanding the dialogues in movies. I have fine tuned everything but nothing has helped. How is this receiver for watching movies especially understanding the dialogues?”

Answering my own question after finally purchasing the receiver. It DID fix the dialogues issue and now all the movies sound crystal clear. Totally recommend this receiver to anyone struggling to hear the movies properly.

Please try again later.This Yamaha receiver is great but for a problem with hearing/understanding the dialogue when watching movies I wouldn’t find that to be the problem with your sony receiver in fact it could be a problem with the speakers you are using and where they are positioned. In my opinion I’d try upgrading my speakers and researching how to position the speakers according to your particular set up (channels) before spending the money on a new receiver.

If you want a super high quality center speaker check out the Emotiva C1 or C2. Excellent reviews on AVS Forums. This Yamaha RX-A770 is excellent btw and am enjoying it very much.
